Asatru Dedication Keepsake Box This gorgeous box, complete with several Norse symbols such as Mjolnir, is the perfect place to store sacred items and a perfect gift for those of the Asatru faith. On the top is an ornately-burned Thor's Hammer "Mjolnir". The symbol many of the faith use as a symbol of their dedication. "Mjolnir" means lightning and was a stylized representation of the Norse God Thor's Hammer. It was believed that Mjolnir would return whenever thrown and was a symbol of protection and acknowledgement of Norse ancestors. On either side of the Mjolnir, is the 'Shield Knot' and the 'Web of Wyrd'. The 'Shield Knot' is a symbol of protection and warding, It is often used to invoke the Gods from the four corners of the earth. It is also reminiscent of the Solar Wheel. The 'Web of Wyrd' joins together the past, present, and future and is interpreted as a 'Tree of Life' symbol. On the front of the box are two 'Helm of Awe's and Odin's Triple Horn. The 'Helm of Awe' symbol was once worn drawn on the forehead between the eyes during battle to promote invincibility and is still used as a symbol for protection. And the 'Triple Horn's of Odin' is a stylized symbol of the Norse God Odin/Woden and is a symbol of commitment to the Gods. On both side's of the box is the 'Valknut'. Also known as Hrungnir's Heart which represents Odin's power over death and the afterlife. It is used as a sign of faith and is known to protect against malicious spirits. This box measures 8.5"x 5.25"x 3.5". Hand drawn and hand burned. Stained a beautiful golden oak, and sealed for protection against moisture.
