Mjolnir Keepsake Box - 36 Mjolnir, the Hammer of Thor, was crafted by the Dwarves, Sindri and Brokkr. It was actually crafted because of a challenge set forth by Loki. During the challenge, while it was being crafted, Loki stung one of the dwarves in the eyelid and it resulted in Mjolinr haing a very short handle. The hammer was perfect except for this one flaw. It can only be weilded by the worthiest of warriors and when it is thrown it will return to the wielder. Loki gifted it to Thor to, of course, try to weasel his way out of hot water for cutting off the golden hair of Sif, Thor’s wife. The symbol of Mjolnir represents dedication to many of the Norse or Asatru faith."Mjolnir" means lightning. On either side of the Mjolnir, is the 'Web of Wyrd'. The 'Web of Wyrd' joins together the past, present, and future and is interpreted as a 'Tree of Life' symbol. Along the bottom on the front of the box is the inscription "May Thors Hammer protect me" in the runes of the Elder Futharc. This box is a wonderful place to keep runes, regalia, or any other precious items. This box measures 8.5"x 5.25"x 3.5", is stained a beautiful golden oak, and sealed for protection against moisture.
